About This Item

Parisiis - Paris: Ex officina Roberti Stephani - Robert Estienne, 1529 Book. Poor. Disbound. There should be 8 unnumbered folios, followed by 182 numbered folios, with another 22 unnumbered folios of index at the rear. Here though missing folios 9-16 [b1-b8] of the main sequence of text, folio 136 [r8] and folios 11-22 of the index [B1-B8, C1-4]. Folio 35 is stained, ink trials to folio 70, faint writing to the margin of f79. Manuscript poem to f69. Folios 107/108 are missing from the sequence but the printer's signatures are continuous, so just a jump in the numbering. 112/113 numbers are repeated. Hole to the running title on f29. In remains of eighteenth century half leather binding, but all very worn and the front board and front end papers are detached. Title page also detached. Old ink owner's name to the title page - W. Allen. Staining to some pages throughout..
