New York: McGraw-Hill Book Company, 1923. Hardcover. See Description. First Edition, sixth impression. 8vo. (23.5 cm), pp. x, 126. Complete with 7 stereoscopic illustrations in the envelope attached to the rear inner board. Bound in maroon cloth. No dust jacket. Binding displays areas of mild rubbing, fading and discoloration. Endpapers are lightly age toned. The half-title (verso) and the title page (recto) contain some miniscule spots of foxing. Interior pages show slight toning towards the outer edges. Pages X, and 1 are well tanned, as if someone had once used a piece of newspaper as a placeholder. Charles Proteus Steinmetz (1865-1923) was a German-American electrical engineer and a professor at Union College in New York. His ideas about alternating current electrical systems led to major technological advancements in American electrical engineering.
