Angus & Robertson, Sydney, 1942. First Edition. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Good Condition/Good. preface by author. Light blue coloured boards with dark blue coloured titles to the spine. Plain text dustwrapper, with black and red coloured titles to the front panel and black coloured titles to the spine on a buff coloured background. One of America's great reporters tells his story of the winter of 1941-1942 in Moscow and Kuibyshev, his flight to Cairo with the Litinovs & Steinhardt and a first-hand account of the Libyan campaign. Softening and rubbing to the back strip edges with cocking of the spine. Some fading patches to the back strip and front panel with sunning to both panels. Uniform tanning of the text block edges and pages some brown marks and faint foxing to the top text block edges. Faint offset tanning to the end pages. There is a manufacturing fault to the front panel with some creasing of the cloth of the board. Dustwrapper corners and backs signing of the dustwrapper panels and very noticeable sunning of the back strip. Browning to the verso. This is the first Australian edition.
