Budapest, Hungary: Corvina Press, 1964 Translated from the Hungarian by Barna Balogh & Susan Kun, translation revised by Ruth Sutter. Edited by prominent Hungarian writer Gyula Illyes primarily for children; editor recasts these tales, but only to the degree of polishing the crudities and the carelesness inevitable in actural story telling, retaining all the original beauty and natural freshness of feeling. Grey hard cover with grey titling on spine, 286 pages. Corners lightly bumped, occasional small brown marks on text block edges. Dust jacket has edge wear which is most pronounced on spine ends and lower corners, spine and edges sunned, cover has shelf wear with light creases. Jacket is protected by a clear plastic Brodart cover. This is a very handsome little book - clean, bright and tight. Shipping charges are calculated for a standard parcel under 1 kg. Additional charges will apply for heavier shipments, but not until the customer agrees. Canadian customers, please note that applicable sales taxes will be added.
