A heliotype facsimile of Columbus's letter announcing his discovery of America, with an English translation and introduction by Henry W. Haynes which explains the history of the original volume, and variations in the text of different versions. A transcript of another Latin translation of the letter (which was originally in Spanish) was printed in facsimile in the 1890 Bulletin of the Boston Public Library, with a translation by R.H. Major.
