This book is a reprint of translation by John Dryden of the tome titled The Life of St. Francis Xavier, of the Society of Jesus, Apostle of the Indies, and of Japan. Authored by Frather Dominick Boheours, in French, of the same society and translated into English by John Dryden.
This volume or alternatively the series was edited by Novak, Maximillian E., Roper, Alan, Guffey, George R., and Dearing, Vinton A.
First edition thus, first impression. The nineteenth volume in this uniform edition.
Illustrated, XVIII, 530 pps with a commentary, an index thereto, textual notes, and an appendix that is a glossary of place-names.

An overall near fine copy in like dust wrapper. The book is unmarked with either names, inscriptions, notes, marginalia, highlighting, labels, or bookplates. Some small stains to the fore edge of the text block. The dust wrapper has a darkened spine, is not price clipped or otherwise incomplete, and has been put in a new archival grade, paper lined, and removeable cover.
