Synopsis
Ronald Steel writes the biography of journalist Walter Lippmann (1889-1974), a man whose role was that of a Washington insider, an adviser to presidents, and an influencer of government policy. Steel uses conversations with Lippmann and exclusive access to his private papersto tell the tale of Lippmann's career from Harvard, to World War I, to his break with LBJ over Vietnam.
