Two Volume Hardcover Set with related ephemera, Stated Limited Editions Vol1 - 1992 Turner Publishing 304 pages and Vol 2 - 2002 128 pages. Both volumes are Near Fine, No jacket - as issued. Just a hint of shelf/edge wear to blue boards with yellow and red titles and art - corners sharp, both front covers have the previous owners name embossed in gold at the bottom right..all pages are bright, clean and crisp. Illustrious history of the Third Marine Division. The story begins at Camp Pendleton and follows the 3rd through New Zealand, Bougainville, Guadalcanal, Guam, Iwo Jima, Okinawa, Vietnam, and the Persian Gulf. Third marine personal stories complement the history of the division with humor, tragedy, and bravery. Medal of Honor recipients listed. Indexed. Laid in is a 2 page newsletter titled " The Stitt Post " (American Legion) which has one page devoted to the previous owner of the book " Eugene (Bill) Fleck " and his war service in the pacific. Also included is the publishers one page advertisement for the publication of Vol 2 and stating that it's limited to 300 copies and finally - a 7 page action report for C Company, 1st battalion, 9th marines 3rd marine Division dated 20 June 1945 (this looks to be a xerox copy of a typwritten report). A very handsome set with great ephemera. Vol 1 is ISBN-156311089X and Vol 2 is ISBN-1563117983. LOC SS-TS-2
