A book that "enlightens as much as it annoys,'' this is an analysis of Soviet propaganda in the seemingly nonideological fields of sports, entertainment, literature, & the arts, demonstrating how "nothing in the USSR is considered non-political." 180 pp. Just removed from storage where it has been packed since received for review, this is a First Edition, first printing, from 1982. With red cloth-covered boards lettered in gilt to spine, this hardcover 8vo is in Fine condition: as clean & bright as Brand New but for mild tanning to page edges in front matter only; the rest are stark white, all unmarked. A bit of dust dulling to top outside page edges. Else, near perfection! The unclipped DJ is downgraded to VG due to a profusion of tiny chips to extremities & center or lower spine; nicely protected against further damage in new clear mylar cover.
