Hurst and Blackett, 1879. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1879. No Edition Remarks. 355 pages. No dust jacket. Volume I. Half bound brown leather with marbled paper covered boards with gilt to spine. Black and white fold out map as frontispiece. Pages bright and clear with some tanning and foxing, particularly to textblock edges and endpapers. Folded map is tanned and slightly water stained. Previous owner's label on front pastedown. Some cracking to hinges and gutters with exposed netting. Textblock binding firm. Boards have heavy shelf wear with bumping to corners, wear to spine and rear board is almost completely detached. Front board also starting to detach at top. Gilt lettering remains fairly bright and clear.
