London & New York, Cassell Petter & Galpin, ca1878. Hardback, 7.5 x 5 inches. Green cloth with gilt lettering to spine and blind paneled boards. Yellow endpapers with printed adverts. In very good condition. Some minor rubbing to cloth on corners and edges of spine, else cover clean and smart. Endpapers bright, small neat previous owners’ stamp to halftitle “W.A. Wallis, Basingstoke.” Minor tanning to frontis plate (tissue guarded.) Some occasional light foxing to pages else pages clean and tight. Else a very good clean and tight copy. 204pp + advert cat at rear (dated 9/78.) Illustrated with a B&W frontis plate and 13 B&W figures & diagrams in text.
