Melbourne and Sydney : George Robertson & Company, 1888. Small octavo, gilt-lettered cloth (upper board with a few small stains, lower board heavily stained); frontispiece lithographed portrait of Edward Henty, plus a lithographed plate of Fawkner; 178 pp; a fine copy. Includes discussion of Aboriginal inhabitants. Title-page with a signed presentation inscription from the author, dated 1 October 1888, for Edmund Gerald FitzGibbon Esq., Town Clerk of Melbourne. Ferguson 18421 Edmund Gerald FitzGibbon CMG (1825-1905) was a barrister from County Cork, Ireland, who arrived in Melbourne in 1852. He served as Town Clerk of Melbourne from 1856 until 1891, when he was appointed full-time chairman of the Melbourne and Metropolitan Board of Works. In 1882, the Victorian government botanist, Ferdinand von Mueller, named Lasiopetalum fitzgibbonii in his honour. He was created a CMG in 1892.

We buy and sell books both locally and around the world, working closely with clients to understand their collecting priorities and to source appropriate material. Our clients include libraries, galleries, museums, private collectors and fellow members of the trade.
Douglas began buying and selling books in 1995, while still in high school. He is a member of the major international trade associations, and his business is conducted according to their high ethical standards. For many years Douglas has been a Board member of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Antiquarian Booksellers (ANZAAB); he is also a Mentor for the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers.
Douglas is currently the President of ANZAAB.
