New York: Abbey & Abbot, 1862. First edition. Cloth. Good. 7" by 4.5". None . A very scarce first edition of Henry Abbey's anthology of poems. The first edition of this work. A very scarce copy, rarely seen in commerce. Anthology of poems by American poet Henry Abbey, best remembered for his poems 'What do we plant when we plant a tree?' and 'The Bedouin's Rebuke.' The present anthology contains titles such as 'May Dreams,' 'Ships at Sea,' 'The Sunset Land,' and 'Two Maples' among others. In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally a trifle rubbed with bumping to head and tail of spine and extremities, boards lightly marked and rubbed. Library bookplate to front pastedown, with no further library markings. Front free endpaper was excised. Internally, binding firm. Light spotting scattered to occasional leaf. Good
