New York: The Dial Press, 1970. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Very good. 432pp. Octavo [23.5 cm] 1/2 brown cloth with light brown paper covered boards, and a black ink stamped title on the spine. There are multiple very light dot-sized stains to the top edge of the text block, and there is a previous owner's name on the front pastedown. Else, internally clean and bright. In the dust jacket, with light soiling. A first edition of the author's first novel. This story takes place in Arizona and Mexico, and recreates the atmosphere of the real cowboy. The book was made into the movie, Pocket Money, starring Paul Newman.
