The story on the street was that Norman Ford was in the British Navy in ww2, The ship's radio man refused to give messages to the captain because the radio man didn't approve of how the captain played his cards. The ship was torpedoed in the Carribean Sea. Norman survied and made it to land. And then headed south to Argentina,which was sitting out ww2, hoping the Argentinians would send him back to England. No such luck for Norman. Hee served to the end of the war. Unable to settle down, Norman started traveling and figured out he knew enough to write a travel guide for other people. The book went through 14 editions. Take a trip to the past. the text is unmarked. Pages are age toned. Cover a little wrinkled. , Norman claims in 1956 you could go around the world for $6.63.
