Groton, NY: Published By the Compiler [Self-Published], 1889. First edition, 1889. From the days when door-to-door salesmen were called "drummers". Collection of poems and anecdotes about selling door to door in the Victorian era. Green cloth over beveled boards, lettered and decorated in gilt, 7.5" tall. Considerable edgewear and some minor fraying to the spine ends, good hinges, sound text block, age-yellowed but clean pages with a few darkened areas from old newspaper clippings stored there, name on preliminary blank, no other markings.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
