About This Item
Just when you thought there couldn't be another book on Gallipoli, there is one. However, unlike some other recent publications, this one actually does fill a gap in the history. We never get told about the aircraft that flew and fought over the peninsula, so Hugh Dolan has decided to tell us. Written in a style that is a little too casual for my tastes, Dolan tells the story of the brave pilots that not only braved enemy weapons, but the failure of their own machinery. One thing I have learned from this book was that the first ever aerial torpedo attack on a ship occurred in this campaign.
422 pages. B&W plates, maps, appendices, bibliography, index. Book in very good condition, with small amounts of bumping to corners and edges, evidence of price sticker on rear cover. Photographs show actual book for sale.
