A wonderful and comprehensive volume on furniture design, decoration and woodwork from the seventeenth century until the early nineteenth century, richly illustrated throughout. English Furniture, Decoration, Woodwork & Allied Arts during the last half of the Seventeenth Century, the whole of the Eighteenth Century, and the earlier part of the Nineteenth contains 3,500 illustrations of various architects, designers and authors working within furniture, decorative arts and woodwork. Some of the craftsmen included in this volume are Indigo Jones, Thomas Milton, Thomas Chippendale, Nicholas Hawksmoor and James Paine. The volume is ordered chronologically from the work of Indigo Jones in the seventeenth century to the work of Thomas Hope in the early nineteenth century. The volume is richly illustrated throughout the text. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, smart, some light marks to the boards and some bumping to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages. Very Good
