From page 97 through to pages 144 the text has been printed on a blue coloured stock with a chronology of various archaeological discovery for various civilisations. Grey coloured cloth covered boards with gilt coloured illustration embossed to the front panel and gilt coloured illustrations to the back strip. Illustrated dustwrapper (wraparound) showing and illustration from the Book of the Dead whereby Heruben are doing the God Geb in the form of the crocodile, with white coloured titles to the front panel. The second in the series History of Painting in which the author discusses painting of Egypt and near Eastern painting in the context of their civilisation and belief systems. Rubbing of the lower book edges with age toning and faint foxing to the text block edges. Minor creasing of the top dustwrapper edge with rubbing of the panels. Fading of the back strip.
