A charming Georgian sea-side set novel, following the Singleton family as they live in an isolated cottage set of the set of a cliff.Illustrated with a frontispiece, engraved title page, and eight plates.Collated, all plates are present, bound without adverts.By Catherine Ward, a Scottish novelist who is known for her novels 'The Mysterious Marriage', 'The Rose of Claremont', and 'The Eve of St. Agnes'.Undated, dated from Jisc from a copy held at the University of Cambridge Libraries. In a half calf binding with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, generally smart, with some rubbing to the boards and spine. Paper to the extremities is lifting with a small amount of loss. Spine is a little discoloured, joints are lightly faded. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean, with a tide mark to the plates. Very Good

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
