About This Item

New York, New York, U.S.A.: Grosset & Dunlap, 1948. First Edition Later Printing . Hardcover. Very Good/Fair. Very first book in this short-lived (12-volume, 1948-1958) girls' series written by Betty Cavanaugh under the pseudonym Betsy Allen, each featuring a "color" in the title connected to a new mystery confronting our heroine Connie Blair, a career girl working at an advertising agency in Philadelphia, PA. This edition is one of the originals with its DJ, NOT the later picture cover reprints from the 1960s. Hardcover 12mo has medium brown cloth-covered boards with darker brown lettering & profile of Connie on front cover. Summaries of books #1 & #2 on front & rear DJ flaps, list of 3 Vicki Barr title to back DJ. Later printing of the 1948 First Edition, the book is in VG condition: generally very clean, binding strong & straight, hinges secure. Pages significantly tanned, heavier around edges, but unmarked. Slight rubbing to extremities & bumped corners. The unclipped DJ is colorful & bright, but downgraded to Fair due to old tape marks, spine darkening, chipping, & general edgewear; looks lovely protected in clear mylar for you collection. Our photos show the exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have! Same day shipping on all orders received by 2 pm weekdays (Pacific time); later orders, weekends & holidays ship very next business day.
