A classical dictionary containing all of the proper names mentioned by the ancient authors, with the values of coins, weights, and measures used among the Greeks and the Romans. As well as a chronological table. Written by John Lempriere. an English classical scholar, lexicographer, theologian, teacher and headmaster. Bound by J & E Bumpus, Oxford Street, London. Bound in half red crushed morocco with cloth boards. Externally, smart with light shelf wear to the extremities. Fading to the spine with minor loss to the head and tail. Front hinge starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with light age toning to the first and last few pages. Contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper. Bound by J & E Bumpus, Oxford Street, London. Very Good

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
