First edition. 8vo; 242pp; orange buckram, black lettering on spine; owner's bookplate on front pastedown; a few b&w illustrations in text, top edge stained yellow with a few light spots; unclipped color pictorial dust jacket, light edge wear and light pencil marks on rear panel; near fine in very good plus dj. The twelfth of The Black Stallion books by Walter Farley (1915-1989). The rear dust jacket flap lists other books in the series, and the rear dust jacket panel features thumbnail photos of boys and girls with their reviews of the books.
