Light foxing and tanning to pages. More prominent to text block edges, pastedowns and free endpapers. Moderate cracking to gutters causing some looseness to binding but pages remain attached. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with mild tanning and scuffing overall. Spine has light staining and tanning with soft crushing to ends. Lettering remains bright and clear. Unclipped dust jacket with moderate rubbing, chipping and tearing to edges. Moderate tanning and scuffing overall.

Author's Telegraph (?) obituary loosely inside. A very nice bright copy. Complete with folding maps, Dust-wrapper just a little chipped at head and neat repair to lower edge. Owner name neatly inside. Book very good. Account of the 'nerve centre' of Central Europe from the exclusion from Bismarck's Germany in 1866 until the mid 1950s by former British intelligence agent, journalist, and historian.
