In brown decorative printed stiff paper wraps, with 2 silk ties, front and rear covers are chipped to base, corners tips are gone, ink name to head of front cover (Thomas Pugh Davies). Internally, [2], [1] map (coloured), [1], 2-3 pp, [1], 9 leaves of text (by James Murdoch), 1 leaf of Japanese text, 29 B&W Collotype plates on 17 leaves + 1 map, printed tissue guards, small oval library stamp to lower corner, library label to verso of upper cover, not dated but c1890, very occasional spot. (404*297 mm). Ogawa was the first Japanese to produce collotype prints in the country in 1888, four years after returning from Boston having learnt the most advanced photographic techniques there. This and another 10 titles were produced for the International market.
