Description:
The invention and development of photography transformed the potential for capturing and evaluating information about the supposed spirit world. However the new medium was open to trickery and it was left to a dedicated band of photographers who attempted to work under controlled conditions. Permutt analyses their work using many pictures from his own collection. Many classic cases are interestingly presented here, including: Borley rectory; the Fox sisters; Ted Serios and Thoughtography, and many others. This is far from a sceptical enquiry, but nevertheless it's an interesting and sincere one.A nice copy. Fore-edge marked with blue ink.
