First trade edition, signed by the poet. Surprisingly harder to find than the Limited Edition, which was published the same year. No. 18 in the Ariel Series. In 1927, Faber and Faber made the decision to publish a series of pamphlets by famous poets, each accompanied by an illustration by a popular artist of the day. Beginning with Yuletide in a Younger World by Thomas Hardy, the first series stretched over 38 issues, with a second series, comprising 8 pamphlets, issued in 1954. The jacket hasn't been price clipped. Slight bumping to corners and pushing to head and foot of spine. The jacket is creased in places, particularly to inner front flap and edges; spine stained and a little chipped to head and foot, and one small brown spot to lower panel. A fresh copy in the rare original dust wrapper. One of only 1500 copies printed. By 1917, the poet saw a need to explain his mystical perspective to his readers. Per Amica therefore was written by Yeats in an attempt to rectify this. Yeats called it a little philosophical book.
