About very good, with some toning to the front board and spine, some light soiling to the boards, spine very lightly cracked inside the front cover, lacking the front free endpaper, front flyleaf with a closed tear to the top half of the margin, some light spotting to the front flyleaf and title page, otherwise bright and clean pages. December 1988. 11" x 17". Original white mini-poster for December 1, 1988 concert at The Underground in Seattle, printed in black. A hint of creasing to bottom edge and top right corner, else fine. Overall, a great, early Nirvana poster. This concert mini-poster features Nirvana in only the second year of the band's existence. Formed in 1987 by Kurt Cobain and Krist Novoselic, the group played its first show under the name Nirvana in March 1988 and released its first single, a cover of Shocking Blue's "Love Buzz," in November of that year. Shortly after this show at The Underground, the group began recording tracks for what would become its first studio album, "Bleach." The poster also features influential Canadian punk band, D.O.A., and the popular grunge band Coffin Break, the latter of which Cobain was supposedly a big fan of. February 1990. Two flyers (pink flyer is 8.5" x 11", blue flyer is 5.5" x 8.5"). Two original flyers for the February 12, 1990 concert featuring Nirvana and Tad, with special guests Thornacopia, at Cattle Club in Sacramento, California, flyers with the same graphics, printed in black. About fine pink flyer, with a very small closed tear to right edge and a hint of creasing to bottom right corner; good blue flyer, with a few chips to edges, some soiling to front and back, some rubbing to print, and a few tiny holes. Overall, a solid pairing of pre- "Nevermind" Nirvana flyers. On February 12, 1990, Nirvana and Tad - another grunge band from Seattle - performed at the Cattle Club in Sacramento. The concert's promoter, Jerry Perry, said of Nirvana's performance: "It was just an explosion. They were this little band out of Seattle. It was a great time. You felt like there was this roar coming back into the music scene. Here came Nirvana and it was really… Read More

Description:
1991. 12 ½" x 12 ½". Signed and inscribed by Nirvana Art Director Robert Fisher in silver marker on the rear of the album. About fine, with corners very lightly nicked and a touch of creasing to right edge of rear of album. Overall, a very unique piece of Nirvana memorabilia. This copy of the "Nevermind" record album is inscribed by the band's art director, Robert Fisher, who oversaw the art and design for all of Nirvana's Geffen releases, including "Nevermind," "Incesticide," "In Utero," and "MTV Unplugged in New York." In his inscription, he tells the origin of the iconic "Nevermind" album cover in his own words - how Cobain wanted the cover to be a picture of a baby being born underwater, and, from that starting point, the band and Fisher collaboratively came up with the image of a baby underwater looking at a dollar bill on a hook. Fisher is careful in his inscription to note his own contributions to the… Read More
