Some wrinkling at top of spine and bottom front corner creased, o/w VG+. The original work by R. G. Graham (Carved Stones of Islay) is now very scarce and unlikely to be reprinted. A booklet covering at least a selection of the material may be welcome to residents and visitors alike. The following pages are therefore based on Graham's work.

"Lang's tale has been reprinted almost exactly as it was originally published. The main change has been to Americanize the English spellings. A couple of obvious errors have also been fixed. And, in one of the pictures a winged insectappears, which Lang called a Daddy Long Legs. Since Americans use that name for a type of spider, we have called the creature a Dragonfly. One final minor point: Lang used two words to name his magical wonderland--Fairy Land. We have kept the spelling in the text but have adopted its modern spelling, as one word, for the title."

Edited and with a foreword by Cary Wilkins. VG+ jacket echoes the artwork on the book's front and back illustrations. All illustrations in various sizes in the book are all in colour.

After serving overseas in the war, Guy ran the telegraph office in Stewart, B.C. Guy Lawrence remained in Stewart for 26 years, retiring in 1946. This book is a personal account of the diaries of Guy Lawrence and a fascinating record of one of B.C.'s earliest communication links with the wilderness of it's northern communities."
