Illustrated in both color and black and white by Kurt Wiese (1887-1974). The authors, Jeanette Guillaume and Mary Lee Bachmann, were both teachers from Buffalo area of New York. The book is based on their many hours spent talking with an Indonesian exchange student at The Park School in Buffalo, where Bachmann was a member of the faculty.
