Half-leather cover shows minor wear and rubbing. Lacking title page and first 12 pages, also lacking pages 23-26, and the hand-colored fashion plates. Profusely illustrated, pages are lightly tanned and mostly clean.

Raised bands & gilt lettering to spine. Bumped and rubbed to spine & corners; fading to front board, spine & rear board; beginning to split at upper front & rear boards; crack to gutter; scattered foxing to page interior, concentrated in the preliminaries; toning; else, very good; text and engravings in fine condition. Very good/No jacket issued.

Philadelphia: L. A. Godey, 1850. Book. Very Good. Hardcover. Solid hardcover 19th century book. Brown cloth boards with black leather corners and spine, gold lettering and decoration on spine. Size approx. 6-3/4" x 10-1/4". Small spots of wear-through to corner tips; light wear to spine edges. Binding is tight and square, hinges are sound - no cracking. Clean marbled endpapers. Previous owner's name (M. A. Woodruff) and date 1850 written on blank fly leaf in pencil, Woodruff name stamped in gold at base of leather spine. Illustrated with beautiful plates, many in color, some with tissue guards. Decorated title page. Illustrated, with everything from house plans to music and poetry to lady's fashions. Most pages are clean, a few have staining or smudging to margins; clean text block edges. 388 pages + two-page table of contents at rear of book..

Louis A. Godey, 1870. Hardcover. Good/No jacket. 3/4 leather. Covers worn. With 6 hand colored foldouts, and six longer black and white foldouts in various states of disrepair. All of those refolded badly so they don't sit cleanly inside the book.

Octavo, 9 3/4" tall, vi + 572 pages with many intertextual black and white illustrations + 6 monthly hand-colored plates, 6 black and white steel plates, + 7 printed color plates (patterns) + extra volume number plate and index, three-quarter leather. A very good copy overall, cover leather worn through to boards at fore-corner tips, leather back strip rubbed at hinge fold, hinges secure but cracked, internal binding is solid, endpapers moderately foxed, front free endpaper missing, volume title and accompanied plate loose, but with internal pages generally clean and moderately yellowed, with minor scattered foxing, most tissue guards present.

1869. First edition. Hardcover. Good. 8vo, half calf, front hinge separated; all plates appear to be present, some a bit rough. The February, 1860 issue includes, " Woman's Rights " by Miss Mary W. M'Lain.
