Pages are heavily marked with intense tanning and foxing, plus heavy thumbing. Gutters somewhat cracked with some exposed netting. Heavy creases to some pages. Boards have some edge wear, with bumping and fraying to corners, while spine ends are moderately crushed and rubbed. Slightly scratched, rubbed and marked overall. Patchy foxing and brown marks. Book has a moderate forward lean. Several minor dents to board edges.

"Columbus crossed the Atlantic Ocean on his third voyage in charge of three vessels on a treasure-hunting expedition undertaken, ironically enough, in the name of the Most Blessed Trinity, and at Noon on July 31st, 1497, he sighted land. Songs of the 'Morning" was written and composed in the Antarctic on the relief ship to Captain Scott's expedition of 1902-1904, the ship carried a piano, the music was written by Gerald Doorly and the lyrics by John D. Morrison the chief engineer.
