This set consists of "Wood Engraving," an illustrated instructional text by Mackley on wood engraving, "George Mackley Wood Engraver," a richly-illustrated survey of his work, and "Confessions of a Woodpecker," which includes text, illustrations, and a bound-in portfolio of 62 examples of his work. The three volumes are hand bound in 1/4 calf over marbled boards by E. A. Weeks & Son, London, and housed in a custom slipcase in matching calf over marbled boards. This is copy #111 in a limited edition of 250 copies, signed by Mackley, with a signed wood engraving laid in. A few spots on backstrips, some abrasion to slipcase, but a near fine set..
