Burnt orange cloth with upper board lettering and decorations in gilt, second edition, 12mo, pp. viii, 108. Top edge gilt. Frontis illustration of the author, who would go on to become Georgia's first Poet Laureate. Introduction by Stanton colleague Joel Chandler Harris. Previous owner short gift inscription to her son on the title page. Some pages with marginal foxing but most are clean. Exterior soiling to the cloth shows more obviously than if publisher had chosen a darker color. Withal, a GOOD and serviceable ensample of this uncommon title.

Inscribed by the author to Georgia author Charles W Hubner in 1892. Later in 1918 Hubner wrote a 5 line poem about Stanton just below the initial inscription. Introduction by Joel Chandler Harris
