Description:
New York, NY: Harcourt, Brace and Company, 1959. 1st . Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. Flora, James. First printing. Unpaginated, color and b&w ills., oblong hardcover, no dustjacket. This is an ex-library copy, as most are. There is one small stamp ("WITHDRAWN) on the first page. Also, there is some evidence of glue to the front fixed endpaper, not too intrusive. Also the front free endpaper has been neatly excised. The binding is firm and the interior has no owner's name or other interior markings, no tears. Internally no sign of wear beyond what we have mentioned. Externally there is minor wear to the original blue cloth binding at the extremities, with some exposure of the boards. Still, nicer than most copies. An excellent reading copy. Author and artist James Flora is best known for his iconic jazz album covers from the 40s and 50s.

N.Y.: Harcourt, Brace and Company, 1959. 1st . Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. First printing. Unpaginated, color and b&w ills., oblong hardcover, dust jacket. This is NOT an ex-library copy, as most are. Nearly Fine text with no serious flaws, neat owner's name inside, no significant wear. Dj has a few short edge-tears, slight loss at tips, minor age-darkening. A much above-average copy of the author's scarcest book. Nearly Fine/Very Good. Author and artist James Flora is best known for his iconic jazz album covers from the 40s and 50s. Rare in such an attractive dust jacket. By far the nicest copy we've seen. Priced accordingly. Please request photos.
