Red cloth, black lettering on spine (minor shelfwear, minor bumping to couple corners), w/ d.j. cover art of mobsters shooting on front cover, boxing on spine (very minor edgewear, minor chipping head of spine, 1 corner, slight sunning to spine, very small tear lower fore-edge front cover), VG/VG- copy, w/ former ownership markings on ffep. carefully removed. First edition of this scarce Sampson Low adventure about the experiences of an Scot-Irish man who emigrates to Canada, becomes a tramp on the rails, a bootlegger running liquor into New York, a gangster, a card sharp on the Pacific and Atlantic steamship lines, shanghaied in Tahiti to Australia, and finally finds himself in the middle of the Spanish Civil War. The photo illustrations include those of New York City motorcycle policemen, U.S. Air Prohibition Officers in front of their plane, and more. Exceedingly scarce in original dustjacket.
