Alamanni's poem "Cultivation", influenced by Virgil's "Georgics", printed in Florence by Bernardo di Giunti in the same year as the Paris edition. Dedicated to Francis I of France, who gave the poet sanctuary when he fled Italy and the Medici. Elegant Italic type. Title page and last page have the printer's device, two children with a fleur-de-lis and "Nil Candidus" underneath. In 18th-century calf with raised bands and gilt decorated spine. Marbled endpapers.
