An exciting piece addressed to the "boy hunters" with chapters on the fur countries, a swan-hunt by torchlight, the chain of lakes, the fish-hawk, an odd alarm, a battle with wolves, and more. Written by Thomas Mayne Reid, an Irish-American novelist whose works on American life describe colonial policy in the American colonies, the horrors of slave labour, and the lives of Native Americans. Publisher's advertisements to the rear. Bound by Bone & Son, London. In the original blue cloth binding. Externally, sound with rubbing and light bumping to the extremities. Minor loss to the head and tail of the spine. Light fading to the spine and the odd small mark to the boards. Front hinge tender. Internally, firmly bound.
