About This Item
London: Max Parrish, 1962 Book. Illus. by William Randell. Good Plus to Very Good. Hardcover. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Maroon paper on boards. I misjudged this book completely. At first I thought it was intended for young readers, for the protagonist is only seven and the illustration simplistic. After a chapter I raised the reading level to "juvenile." Not long after that I was bothered by unfamiliar terms to the extent that I judged it not just "adult," but "advanced adult." By the time I finished reading this book I wondered why it took me so long to tumble. I hope this warning saves you similar embarrassment. A glossary would have been helpful. 144 pp..
