NY: Macmillan Company, 1929. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good Minus. Black cloth, yellow stamping to spine and front cover, still bright (spine not faded), general light edge wear, a bit more so to the cover corners, clean. A slight binding lean, but otherwise tightly bound. The Preface has some erased pencil markings, cleanly done, but some light indentation visible when looking closely. Otherwise the pages of the book are clean, still bright and the books is unmarked. No dust jacket. Edward H. Smith was a criminologist and journalist who died in 1927; this book was published posthumously.
