Galashiels: A. Walker & Son 1908. (Hardcover) Very good, no dust jacket. 242pp. An inscription stating "With the Publishers Compliments". Green cloth with gilt lettering. Top edge gilt, photographic plates. Edges and corners are lightly bumped, a previous owner's blind stamp on the front endpaper and some of the first pages are loose, but still attached, and lightly soiled. "The object I have had in view in preparing this work for the press has been to bring together the more notable and interesting ballads and poems which Yarrow has inspired, and to give such brief biographical sketches of the various poets as may prove either interesting or instructive to the general reader" - from the Preface to the First Edition. Locale: Scotland. (Poetry, Poetry, Poets).
