Biography of Yagan, a Noongar leader and the chief of the Upper Swan tribe and also the son of Midgegooroo, the leader of the Beeliar tribe. Yagan was a resistance fighter in the conflict with settlers in the Swan River Colony, and was shot for a reward in 1833. His preserved head was taken to England in 1834. Neville Green is well-known for his research into Aboriginal history: his book covers Yagan's life and the twentieth century search for his skull, which was finally returned to Western Australia. 1st Edition.
