About This Item

London: Heinemann, 1949. Bound in the publishers black cloth with silver title lettering and decoration to spine and front board. This is the first impression of the first edition of one of Maugham's most important and relevant titles. In it we literally get a profound and rare insight into the workings of one of the greatest minds of the short story writer. All pages are present and correct with no inscriptions. Book sits solid and square with all corners sharp. Silver title lettering remains strong and definite. Housed in the increasingly scarce maroon coloured dustwrapper with publishers price intact on front inside flap. Routine wear and signs of handling to a dustwraper not easily encountered in very good condition. Slight loss to head of spine. Nontheless a decent example which is now protected in a removable archival booksleeve to preserve its condition. Photograhs of the book and the dustwrapper are available on request. A nice copy overall.. First Edition. Very Good/Good. FIRST EDITION.
