Oblong oversized volume in black cloth with spine lettered in gilt and red. Illustrated endpapers. 189 pp. with bibliography. With 200 line drawings and 24 plates in full color. Lavishly illustrated monograph that explores Edward Gorey's roles as artist, illustrator, and theater designer. The book introduces readers to Gorey himself by way nof an interview with Clifford Ross. From there, art critic Kae=ren Wilkin take sthe reader on a voyage through Gorey-world, analyzing the evolution and sources of the artist's style. Both important and lesser known works are discussed.
