Collated, complete.Rowe was a noted dramatist, and is generally considered to be the first editor of the works of Shakespeare.He started his dramatic career in 1700 with the publication and production of 'The Ambitious Stepmother', produced at Lincoln's Inn Fields. His dramatic career flourished over the next two decades before his death in 1718.These two volumes include 'The Royal Convert', 'Jane Shore', 'Jane Grey', 'Poems of Several Occasions', 'The Ambitious Step-Mother', 'Tamerlane', 'The Fair Penitent', and 'Ulysses'. In a full calf binding. Externally, generally smart. Light rubbing to the joints and extremities. A small amount of loss to the head of the spine of Volume II. Minor bumping to the extremities. Spines are lightly discoloured. A few minor marks to the boards. Prior owner's ink to the front paste down of Volume I, and to the recto of the front free endpaper of Volume II. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and clean with the occasional spot only. Very Good

Some terminology that may be used in this description includes:
- Fair
- is a worn book that has complete text pages (including those with maps or plates) but may lack endpapers, half-title, etc....
- Rubbing
