The Works of Geoffrey Chaucer: Compared with the Former Editions, and many valuable MSS

This book was owned by Harold Jefferson Coolidge, his book plate is within the front board, prominent lawyer and the great great grandson of Thomas Jefferson and distant relative of President Calvin Coolidge! This book came from the estate of John Robert Gregg, the inventor of the Gregg Shorthand writing system from his property in York, Maine.

CONDITION: Original Leather Binding, ribbed spine (rebacked). Inner paste down and end pages replaced. Boards have scratching, rubbing and scuffing. Corners exposed. Heavy edge and corner wear. Some of the pages have light foxing/toning, some penciling within the margins. Very last end pages has light penciling through the sentences.
