The collected works of James Hogg, known as the 'Ettrick Shepherd'. Scottish poet and novelist, he is best known for his novel The Private Memoirs and Confessions of a Justified Sinner. This work is of the centenary edition complete in two large paper volumes, revised by the Rev. Thomas Thomson. Containing 'Tales and Sketches' to vol. I, and 'Poems and Life' to vol. II. Illustrated with frontispiece and additional engraved title page to both volumes, as well as forty-two full page plates of engravings. Collated, complete. Rebound in uniform half calf binding with cloth covered boards, marbled edges. Titles in gilt to morocco spine labels. Externally smart with minor shelf wear, lightly rubbed to spine and extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Light spotting to occasional leaf. Very Good
