About This Item
Joliet: P.F. Volland, 1927. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good. Hardcover in color illustrated paper covered boards over blue cloth spine. Color illustrated endpapers. 95 pp. Illustrated with color drawings and decorations by Gruelle. About very good, some rounding and wera to the outer tips. Marcella goes to spend a week in the city, telling her dools, Uncle Clem. Beloved Belindy and the others, to have fun but behave themselves while she's away. But the two spy a tiny little house in the distance (too small for grownup eyes to notice) and go to knocn on the door. It's answered by Eddie Elf who shows them the back yard in which wooden ponies play. They ride two into the tiny town of Wooden Land where all the citizens and houses are made of wood. In the little wooden factory in which toys are made, they meet one wooden toy boy whose head was nicked *Wooden Willie) and so would have been thrown away but Belindy and Clem adopt him. Adventures ensue.
