About This Item
Chicago: Rand McNally & Co. [0-528-81822-8] 1974, 1st printing. (4to) 224pp. Very good plus in very good dust jacket. Black and white and color photographs and illustrations, index. The dust jacket is edgeworn with creasing, some closed tears have been taped at the bottom corner of the front panel, and the front inner flap has a dampstain on the bottom corner. "The year was 1940. France had fallen. The British Expeditionary Force had just been evacuated from Dunkirk, and Hitler was in control of the Continent. The specter of invasion loomed over the British Isles as never before since Napoleon. Over the roar of cannon boomed the voice of one man - Winston Churchill - who personified the determination of the free world to fight the Nazis to final victory". Book about Winston Churchill. Locale: England. (History--England, Biography, Family History, Prime Ministers--England).
