In the publisher's dust jacket, $17.95 retail price on front flap, touch of wear to spine, a fine example. Inscribed on the front free endpaper "To Pete Domenici - Who I hope can survive my reference to him - Paul Simon / 2-9-89." Domenici is referenced on page 84, where Simon compliments the Senator's work to combat homelessness. Paul Simon (1928-2003) was an Illinois Democrat who served in the House of Representatives from 1975 to 1985 and in the Senate from 1985 to 1997. Simon wrote twenty-two books throughout his career, and was known for his traditional horn-rimmed glasses and bow tie. In a tribute to Simon, former President Bill Clinton said he was "beyond question, one of the most remarkable public servants I ever knew." Pete Domenici (1932-2017) was the longest-serving Senator from New Mexico to date, holding office from 1973-2009.
